On a high profile vehicular homicide charge, 18 year old Gina Giovangelo has fled from her arraignment. She has been seen in a white Honda Accord although police have yet to find her. The charges Gina Giovangelo faces stem from the Wednesday morning death of Lillian White.
Gina Giovangelo and her alleged crimes
Arrested on Thursday night, Gina Giovangelo has been charged with vehicular homicide. On Tuesday night, Gina hit and killed Lillian White. Lillian White was crossing a street in Barnstable, Mass., in her motorized wheelchair. Gina Giovangelo collided with the wheelchair, dragged Lillian and her wheelchair away, and then left the scene of the crime. Lillian White died just before 4 am after being taken to the hospital.
Gina Giovangelo arrested for vehicular homicide
Gina Giovangelo was arrested on Thursday morning after the 2007 Nissan Altima involved in Lillian White’s death was found in a parking lot. Giovangelo was originally being held on $ 10,000 cash bail. Her arraignment hearing was supposed to be Friday morning in the Barnstable District Court. The $ 10,000 cash bond was posted for Gina Giovangelo, possibly from money lenders or bail bondsmen.
Gina Giovangelo flees arraignment
After arriving at the Barnstable District Court, Gina Giovangelo fled Friday morning. She explained to lawyers that she was just going to have a cigarette outside. Gina Giovangelo was nowhere to be found when her name was called for arraignment an hour later. A manhunt has been initiated. Some reports indicate that the 18-year old is traveling along Route 28 in a white Honda Accord. Gina Giovangelo is denying the crime.
